The first Northampton Town Area BLT development day will be taking place at Saints Study Centre on Monday 8th November. At this meeting, teachers from schools across the county along with some forward thinking colleagues from across the UK who will be getting together and sharing their innovative uses of technology to make children’s learning more exciting and effective.
The day will focus on the following:
- ZU3D – Stop animation software (Input will come from David Henley from ZU3D and schools will be able to access a free site licence trial for the software until after Christmas where we can negotiate group rates if we want to purchase).
- Powerful and free online software for learning – including Prezi – ‘the zooming presentation editor’ , Primary Pad – ‘super funky collaborative writing’ and VoiceThread – ‘group conversations around images documents and videos.’
- Discussion on a BLT mobile technology toolkit to include items such as iPads, PSPS, iPod touch, netbooks etc. We are hoping that schools will agree to trial this toolkit in a classroom for a half term and then feedback on the impact it has had on learning throughout the academic year.
The development day will take place between 0900 and 1500.
